Mr. CARLOS BENDITO– Managing Director

Prior to joining AIS, Mr. Bendito was Managing Director of Innovest in Spain, where he successfully negotiated and launched with BBVA the first Spanish SRI actively managed fund. His more than 15 years experience in corporate finance, company restructuring, and private sector development, allowed him to hold positions internationally, among others: he was Country Manager for Spain, Portugal and Romania in the Council of Europe Development Bank, a Paris-based Multilateral Development Bank aimed at financing social and environmental projects in Europe, where he managed an investment project portfolio of EUR 1.85 Billion; he was Associate Director of the Project Finance and Privatisation practice with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in Spain; the European Commission in Brussels as task manager in charge of the Commission programme for private sector development; the United Nations Development Programme, where he was in charge of the private sector programme for several Central and Eastern European Countries.

His professional experience focused on providing advisory services to governments, sell and buy side investors in the privatisation or restructuring of public sector groups. Mr. Bendito holds a degree in economics from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid with a major in Development Economics, and a Diploma on International Trade from the Madrid Chamber of Industry and Commerce.

Mr. JUAN SILVA - Senior Analyst

Juan Silva is a Senior Analyst at AIS. Previously, he was a Senior Analyst at Innovest Strategic Value Advisors, where he developed the analysis and reports for the Paper and Forest Products, Integrated Oil and Gas, and Energy Equipment and Services sectors. He also participated in different consultancy projects related to CO2 abatement financial risks (“carbon risk assessment” and the “Carbon Disclosure Project”). Mr. Silva worked as an Associate Researcher at the Indian Institute of Forest Management in Bhopal, India, focusing his investigation on the economic and ecologic impact of forest degradation in specific areas. Mr. Silva has worked for GPU International (an international energy company) coordinating the implementation of the ISO14001 certification system at one of its facilities, and developing environmental impact assessment projects.
Juan Silva is a Mechanical Engineer and has a Master of Forest Conservation from the University of Toronto. He also holds a certificate in Environmental Studies from the Institute of Environmental Studies at the University of Toronto. He is currently studying a Professional Master in Environmental Engineering at EOI in Madrid.

Ms. ELIA TARREGA - Senior Analyst

Elia Tárrega is a Senior Analyst at AIS. She has worked as an external consultant in the CSR area in projects for several Consulting Clients. Elia has coordinated the study “Corporate Social Responsibility for Spanish companies included in the IBEX35 index” in 2004. For this study, she also analysed the financial companies and created the methodology for analysing Corporate Governance. Elia has also been an Equity Analyst at Societe Generale in London, covering companies within the retail sector. Prior to that, Elia worked for three years as a SRI Associate at Social Accountability International (Council on Economic Priorities) in New York, analysing companies from the S&P 500 index, on social and environmental issues. Elia Tárrega graduated with a BSc degree in Economics and Business from University of Navarra and is an MBA graduate from IESE.
